SUNCOAST – Gas prices in the area now average at $3.61, which is 14 cents lower than last week and 67 cents lower than last month.
Diesel also continues its decline, down to $4.83 from $5.38 last month.
Overall the Suncoast is in line with Florida’s average price of gas, which is around $3.64.
The most expensive gas is in Monroe County, home of the Keys, at $3.95.
AAA says gas demand has actually increased since last week, though it’s lower than last year. As long as global oil prices continue to fall, the price at the pump likely will follow.
