FLORIDA (SNN TV) – Florida Power & Light is asking the state government to reduce its proposed gas costs.
The Herald-Tribune reports FPL wants to reduce these costs by $256 million. If you’re a customer, that would translate to a small decrease in your bill by around four dollars if you use 1000 kilowatts of energy. Regulators with the Florida Public Service Commission already approved a $1.41 billion reduction in expected fuel costs for FPL.
Electricity costs for most FPL customers are up $10 from January. The company says that’s due to restoration costs after Hurricanes Ian and Nicole plus higher than expected fuel costs in 2022.
