MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – The final suspect has been arrested in connection with a Manatee County murder dating back to September.

The sheriff’s office tells SNN an extensive investigation led to the arrest of 21 year-old Coty Paulk.

On September 17, 2019, four men shot and killed Hamed Mohammed at the Green Galaxy Smoke and Vape Shop.

Sheriff’s spokesman, Randy Warren, says robbery was the motive.

Paulk is the fourth and final suspect in the murder of Mohammed.

Warren says detectives have been working for months on this case.

“They were able to collect DNA from a jacket that was on the scene. And also use some phone records,” Warren said. “And, this takes time, because some of that had to go through a national database and it’s not uncommon for it to take several months.”

Deputies arrested Paulk at his home in Palmetto on Monday without incident. All four people involved in this case are in custody and facing charges.

Warren says Paulk is also on bond for an attempted murder in Hillsborough County.
