ANNA MARIA, Fla. (SNN TV) – Water main repairs are scheduled for next month on the Anna Maria Island Bridge.

In a press release, Manatee County said work to install permanent pipe supports for a water main along the Manatee Avenue Bridge over Anna Maria Sound will occur this Wednesday, Nov. 1.

This is the final phase of the water main repair.

While the contractor is working primarily from the water to minimize impacts to drivers, the county said periodic lane closures and periods of one-way traffic will be required on State Road 64 this Wednesday. The contractor would normally be working from the road base.

The time frame is expected to be between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The county says the work is not possible at night due to safety concerns.
