BRADENTON, Fla. (SNN TV) — The Manatee County ferry service begins this Friday morning, barring inclement weather.

The ferry will transport passengers from the Bradenton Riverwalk to the Anna Maria City pier.

Once the ferry service begins, passengers be able to catch a ride every week, Friday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ride times will range from 25 to 40 minutes.

The two 50-foot open-air catamarans, Miss Anna Maria and Downtown Duchess, hold 49 passengers and will have two crewmembers aboard.

The Historic City Pier at Bradenton Beach will be added to the route system as soon as some “minor enhancements” are completed, according to Manatee County.
