SARASOTA – The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a crash that left a car wedged in a parking garage.
It happened Saturday night just after 7 PM at the Art Ovation Hotel Garage. SPD is reporting a pedestrian was hit by the vehicle before it got stuck in the garage. Parts of Palm Ave were closed for several hours as crews continued to investigate.
SPD spokeswoman Genevieve Judge says the pedestrian and driver of the car were taken to Sarasota Memorial, both are expected to survive. The crash is still under investigation. No word on what caused the crash.
