PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (SNN TV) – Multiple areas are flooded and/or closed in the city of Punta Gorda and south Charlotte County. These are the updates we know as of 2:00 p.m. today:
- Marion Ave and Cooper St are underwater and shut down. Traffic off of I-75 is being diverted back to I-75 and directed onto another exit.
- The 41 North bridge into Port Charlotte and the 41 South bridge into Punta Gorda are shut down due to flooded roads.
- Exit 164 on I-75 is closed. This exit leads to U.S. 17 and gets you quickly to downtown Punta Gorda.
- Downtown Punta Gorda roads are flooded. The Punta Gorda Police Department advises residents to avoid driving in the area.
