FLORIDA (SNN TV) – Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to pursue a 6-week abortion ban if reelected. But he’s not talking about it. This comes after signing a 15-week abortion ban with no exceptions to rape or incest.

DeSantis campaigned in 2018 to wanting to pursue a 6-week ban. USA Today Network Florida reports Republican leaders in the state are being included in conversations to pursue a stricter ban statewide.

Democrats accuse the governor of being coy about it prior to the election. DeSantis‘ opponent, Congressman Charlie Crist, says the governor’s position is out of step with the majority of Floridians and adds “choice is on the ballot.” Their debate is October 24 beginning at 7 p.m.
