FLORIDA (SNN TV) – Governor DeSantis dodges a question on abortion but says he’s ready for an expansive gun bill in the state.

In a press conference Thursday, he was asked about a bill to ban abortions after around six weeks of pregnancy according to the Herald-Tribune and USA Today Network – Florida. He did not commit to it, only saying quote, “I’m willing to sign great life legislation.”

However, he says he supports what supporters dub constitutional carry, which would allow Floridians to carry guns without a concealed carry permit. The Florida House Speaker also said he’s committed to working on it in 2023.

Desantis also defended the recent property insurance bill, which critics blast for providing no immediate relief and accuse of helping insurers. DeSantis claims the bill quote, “was really far reaching.”
