PALMETTO, FL (SNN-TV) – The high school football landscape continues to change on the Suncoast as a tenured head coach has stepped down.

Palmetto High’s Dave Marino has stepped down as Tigers head coach. effective immediately.

Joining the Tigers staff 15 years ago as Raymond Woodie’s offensive line coach, Marino would then take over the reigns as head-man-in-charge in 2010. During his tenure with Palmetto, Marino won 3 regional championships, while accruing a final record of 100 wins and 57 losses during his 13 seasons. This past season the Tigers finished 6-4 and lost to Lehigh in the first round of the Class 4S playoffs.

In a parting message sent out by Coach Marino, he states, “I’ll be forever grateful to all the players and coaches who helped make dreams a reality for Palmetto High School and the community. I’ll forever be a Tiger and cherish the times we had together.”

Marino will remain at Palmetto in a teaching capacity.
