SARASOTA – The Teton County Coroner has revealed the cause of Gabby Petito’s Death.
“In the manner of death of Gabrielle Petito we cause and manner to be, cause, death by strangulation and manner is homicide,” said Teton County Coroner, Brent Blue.
By Wyoming state statute only the cause and manner of death are released, autopsy findings and photographs are not released.
“I can tell you that DNA samples were taken by law enforcement and all I can tell you about her remains is that the body was outside for 3 to 4 weeks,” said Dr. Blue.
The Teton county Coroner says the autopsy included a whole body CAT scan he also revealed gabby was not pregnant.
The death certificate has not yet been completed.
“Death certificates in the state of Wyoming allow for approximate and variability in those dates so I doubt that there will be an exact date of the death on the death certificate,” said Dr. Blue.
Dr. Blue says the vast coverage on this particular case has been quite the ‘media circus’ but unfortunately this has only been one many death around the country of people involved in domestic violence situations.
“It’s unfortunate that these other deaths have not gotten did not get as much coverage as this one, I’m assuming because the deceased was a blogger, that this received more coverage but there are a lot of both men and women who have lost their lives and are not covered with this kind of media attention,” said Dr. Blue.
Gabby’s Fiance Brian Laundrie remains missing. He is person of interest in her homicide.
Gabby Petito’s remains have been returned to the morgue where they will later be given back to her family.
