SARASOTA – Classic and modern corvettes invaded St. Armand’s Circle for the 23rd annual Classic Corvettes On the Circle Saturday morning.

Hundreds of people were in attendance to checkout older and newer generations of corvettes. The event was hosted by the Skyway Corvette Club and featured more than 150 of the iconic American cars.

Chairman of Corvettes On the Circle Allen Harmsen says the secret to taking care of these classic cars is to keep them as clean as possible.

“It’s just something we like to give back to the community,” said Harmsen. “I mean the corvette community is pretty large it’s one of the most popular cars in the world. It’s the American icon, it’s a sports car so obviously Florida we got year-round driving so everybody enjoys it.”

The owners of the corvettes received trophies for best in show amongst other categories. Proceeds of the car show go to Honor Flights of Southwest Florida.
