SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) – From flipping-dogs to juggling fire, circus performers put on a show for a good cause.

Juggler, Shane Hansen is a Salvation Army bell ringer; bringing holiday cheer while raising awareness for the non-profit.

Salvation Army says with the fewer volunteers and locations, its kettle revenue is roughly 50-percent less than the same time last year.

Hansen says he wanted to use his circus connections to draw more attention to the kettlebell fundraiser

But, he’s not only a juggler, he’s also a salvation army alum who graduated from the viper program 18 months ago; helping him overcome his addiction. Hansen says it changed his life.

“So much was given to me through the salvation army and the people there,” Hansen said. “This is just a minuscule thing that i can do to help give back and volunteer to help them. Especially in the time we’re in now; everybody needs help. And it’s nice to do something that puts a smile on people’s faces.

The mini circus show included a juggling act, a hula-hoop spinning display, and a dog performance.

They were outside of the Publix at Sarasota Crossings, Wednesday night, and they plan to be there again Friday night.

Also, the Salvation Army is continuing its, $20 for $20 kettle campaign.  the organization has anonymous donors matching every $20 bill.
