CHAMPAIGN, IL (SNN-TV) – Fresh after a dominating game at Penn State, Illinois running back and former Saint Stephen’s star Chase Brown was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

Brown rushed for 223 yards and a TD in Saturday’s 20-18 9-overtime win at No. 7 Penn State, the most rushing yards for anyone in the country during Week 8.

Brown’s 223 yards push him past 1000-career yards as an Illini He is the 46th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career yards.

Brown also tallied 352 yards as a freshman at Western Michigan, giving him 1,552 for his collegiate career.

Brown left the game against Penn State in the second overtime with an undisclosed injury but remained on the sideline for the remainder of the game.

In six games this season, Brown has 637 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Chase’s brother, and former Saint Stephen’s Falcon, Sydney Brown is a defensive back at Illinois as well.
