CHAMPAIGN, IL (SNN-TV) – Following one of his most impressive games, former Saint Stephen’s and Illinois star running back star Chase Brown, is the likely front-runner for the Doak Walker Award and within striking distance of multiple major Illinois football records.

Against Michigan’s top rushing defense, Brown ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns, despite the Illini falling to the Wolverines 19-17.

Entering the final game of the regular season against Northwestern, Brown is 116 rushing yards away from breaking the Illinois single-season rushing record and 221 all-purpose yards away from becoming the first Illini in history to gain 2,000 all-purpose yards in a season.
