SARASOTA – Former Florida Governor, Charlie Crist made a pit-stop on the Suncoast Monday hoping to rally for support as we near Election Day.

“Your vote is the vote, Charlie Crist is the vote,” said former Sarasota Mayor, Willie Shaw.

Democratic candidate for Governor, Charlie Crist made a pit stop in Sarasota, Monday as he continues to campaign throughout Tampa Bay as Election Day is just around the corner.

“It’s an honor to be here with you, on the ‘Choose Freedom’ tour and the freedom that were choosing is for a women’s right to choose,” said Democratic Candidate for Governor, Charlie Crist.

While Crist took his vote to the polls Monday morning, he motivated others to make sure they do the same.

“I need everybody to get out and vote, we need everybody to get out and vote, it’s so critically important, this race is close, don’t believe what you hear, this race is close, they’re always tight in Florida we know that so the only way we can affect it positively is make sure you vote,” said Crist.

Sarasota City Commissioner, Jen Ahearn-Koch showed her support for the former FL Governor

“He cares deeply about you, he cares deeply about this state, he cares about us as citizens as, parents, as grandparents, as business owners and people who love this state and want to see it get better and better and better,” said Ahearn-Koch.

When asked about his opponent, Governor Ron DeSantis, Crist said he was not handling the aftermath of Hurricane Ian very well

“He’s not very smart, and has distracted, he’s not paying attention to Florida, he’s paying attention to his own future, that’s why he went to New York this weekend, he’s trying to campaign for president, we deserve a governor who cares about our state and cares our people and will help them first, that’s why I am running to be your governor, is to help you,” said Crist.

“This is home, there’s no place like home, lets light it up right here at home, cast all those ballots lets go win this thing, god bless you, thank you,” said Crist.

Midterm elections will be held next Tuesday, November 8th.
