TAMPA (SNN-TV) – A new week for the Buccaneers means they’re only days away from the regular season home opener.

The Bucs will begin their hopeful ascent to another Super Bowl this Thursday night against the Cowboys. The Bucs will receive some extra help from two key parties on Thursday, the first of which is the returning Ndamukong Suh. Suh was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Tampa Bay’s COVID list is now currently empty, as Suh was the last of four players activated over the past five days. Upon adding Suh, Tampa Bay did have to release kicker Jose Borregales, elevating Ryan Succop back to the active roster.

The second relief the Bucs will receive on Thursday is a sold out crown at Raymond James Stadium. As part of the NFL’s kickoff game, the matchup between Tampa and Dallas is must-see. Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles appreciates the fans loyalty. “Just to have the fans back in the football stadiums around the country – college, professional and high school – is great for the fans. It’s a big boost for the team and everybody is excited to get back going.”

Another integral part of the lead-up to the season opener was the captain selections, Lavonte David was chosen as one of the two defensive captains for the second time, this time alongside Devin White. David spoke today about  how important the honor is too him. “It means I’m doing something right and there’s something that they like that they see out of me with me being a leader on the field and off the field. I’m definitely grateful for that opportunity to lead these guys again.”

The captains on the offensive side are Tom Brady and Mike Evans, and the special teams captains are Kevin Minter and Bradley Pinion.

Kickoff is set for this 8:20 Thursday night from a sold out Raymond James Stadium.
