SARASOTA/MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – Congressman, Vern Buchanan was named the lead Republican on the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, today.
This means our local representative in Washington is in charge of overseeing the health care in our nation.
The Subcommittee on Health is part of Ways and Means that considers any bills that affect health care payments. This includes health care taxes, research, social security, Medicare, and more.
The Congressman stated that he looks forward to working to advance an agenda that makes health care more affordable and accessible for every American.
He is the first Floridian ever to lead the Health Subcommittee.
