BRADENTON (WSNN) – A man is gunned down on a Bradenton sidewalk, and SNN has exclusive video of the moments that led up to it.

Witnesses say several shots were fired, which led to the tragedy of their neighborhood friend.

“It was like, is it real? Is this is a movie?” said neighbor, Melanie Johnson.

Thursday night witnesses Johnson and Cleshun Day say  20-year-old Antonio Aguirre was shot right in front of their eyes. It happened in the 700 block of 25th St East around 10:30 PM.

“We were walking my sister out to her car, and as she was getting ready to leave, there were a couple of boys running, and they stopped near the stop sign,” Day said. “And they were chatting and then a car pulled up and the car let out two shots and drove off.”

Day says the boys were Aguirre’s family members. And as soon as the white SUV left, Johnson & Day ran to him.

“Rushing, help, call 911,” Day said. “And go see if he’s okay, just make sure he’s fine and everything.”

They say this is unusual for the neighborhood.

“I’ve been here almost 10 years and I haven’t seen that here in the front yard,” Johnson said.

Aguirre’s family says they plan to hold a private vigil tonight.
