MANATEE COUNTY – Family of four seeking help to replace what was lost, following a devastating home explosion this past weekend in Manatee County.

“It exploded, and everything went up in flames in a matter of seconds” said Organizer of the Go Fund Me Page, Liz Urieta.

According to the City of Bradenton Fire Dept Fire Chief, Steve Trompke, the home on 3rd street west in Bradenton was fully engulfed in flames when the firefighters arrived Sunday afternoon.

“It was a pretty chaotic scene to begin with, trying to get to the patients, power wires fell down, which tampered the fire attack but we got a pretty good knock down on the fire,” said City of Bradenton Fire Department Battalion Chief, Steve Trompke.

The devastating fire left two people critically injured with second and third degree burns.

Urieta says her older brother, Julio Urieta is in critical condition, with 60 percent of his body burned.

Now, the family of four is seeking help to recover all that has been lost, including clothes, shoes, and all their personal belongings of 21 years of living in the home on 3rd street west.

The fundraiser with a current goal of $10,000, has raised a little more than $2,000 in just one day.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation according to the City of Bradenton Fire Department.
