SARASOTA – Parts of Beach Road near Siesta Beach were underwater after Thursday morning’s torrential rainfall.
Sarasota Police ended up closing the road after several cars kept getting stuck. The last car trapped in the submerged street was able to get help from another driver who towed the truck on to dry land.
Officials kept the road closed until the water receded.
