SARASOTA – Nine Sarasota arts organizations are coming together to ensure patron safety.

The safe arts Sarasota initiative is aimed at assuring safety measures for patrons, to make sure they feel safe when returning to arts events across the Suncoast.

The initiative includes enforcing mask policies, and social distancing guidelines.

Executive Director of Westcoast Black Theater Trope, Julie Leach says it has been a long year having to adjust to the new normal.

She adds bringing back the arts to Sarasota, will help all in the long run.

“Helps all the restaurants, helps all the hotels, it puts Sarasota back on the map of not just the beach, tourist, destination but also the cultural arts hub of this side of Florida, so all that helps immensely with our entire economy and it helps people feel better in general, I think people really want to be active and doing things again if they feel they can do so safely,” said WBBT Executive Director, Julie Leach.
