MANATEE COUNTY – Several of Manatee County’s finest art and music educators were honored for their distinguished accomplishments Monday night.

The Arts Alive! award show presented by the Manatee Arts Education Council featured student performances from local high schools. As well as showcasing visual artworks from students in K-12 and some of the colleges here on the Suncoast.

Professional Dancer and graduate of Manatee School for the Arts Peter Pinnock says he’s humbled to be recognized for his accomplishments.

And is glad events like Arts Alive allows for the spotlight to shine on some of the underdogs of the arts community.

“People praise us when it comes to our shows but when it comes to awards and when it comes to the logistics of it we’re not always recognized,” says Pinnock. “So it’s a blessing that they put this together because it really does bring the arts alive.”

Pinnock has performed for some of the biggest names in modern entertainment.

Most recently he performed as one of the Weekends back-up dancers at this year’s halftime Super Bowl show.
