SARASOTA (WSNN) – The Art Ovation Hotel transformed into Disney magic with pixie dust and a paintbrush.
Tim Rogerson is a Disney Fine Artist and a Ringling College of Arts and Design Alumnus. He is one of 25 artists qualified to illustrate Disney characters.
“It’s dream,” Rogerson said.”I’ve been doing it professionally all my life, and do it professionally for Disney is just a dream come true.”
Margaret Kerry is the original Tinker Bell model for the Disney animators. Walt Disney chose her almost 70 years ago. And in two years, there will be an anniversary.
“At the same time, we will be celebrating Disney being in business for 100 years,” Kerry said.
Friday, Madeby Gallery and the Art of Ovation Hotel hosted a meet and greet with these local celebrities.
“You can buy the artwork, she’s signing giving pictures and you can come to have a cocktail and just watch and see what’s going on,” Art Ovation Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing Asa Harris said.

“She’s such a legend as tinker bell,” Sarasota resident who bought a Tinker Bell illustration Rachel Burns said. “And Tim, he’s a Disney master. Such a great opportunity to be able to buy something with the artist present and we bought Margaret’s book.. cause how often can you get the author to sign it
“He does the best pictures of me that you can imagine, Tinkerbell,” Kerry said.
The Disney magic will be in Sarasota all weekend long. Saturday, the Art Ovation gallery will be open starting at 11 with a meet-and-greet going from 4 to 8 pm. And Sunday, the gallery will be open until 4 pm.
