SARASOTA COUNTY- Allegiant Air pledged more allegiance to SRQ Tuesday. The economically–friendly airline announced nine new destinations out of Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport.
The destinations include: Asheville, North Carolina and Baltimore, Maryland, starting Feb. 22.
In April, routes to Syracuse, NY, Harrisburg, PA, Richmond, VA, Columbus and Cleveland OH, Grand Rapids, MI, and Nashville, TN, all begin.
SRQ Airport President, Rick piccolo said with the upcoming winter and spring training seasons, additional flights will benefit the community in more ways than one.
“It’s going to bring a lot more tourists here. We estimate about 160,000 additional passengers coming into the area so it’s great for the airport, it’s great for the economy for tourism and hotels, especially in light of what has happened with red tide,” he said.
To celebrate, Allegiant Air is offering one–way fares as low as $45 to those locations. Flights will operate on a year–round, bi–weekly basis.
