PORT CHARLOTTE (SNN-TV) – One of the Suncoast’s best two-sport athletes, and one of Port Charlotte High School’s greatest stars is headed to the Aloha State to play on the gridiron at the next level.

Former SNN Student-Athlete of the Month, and Class 5A Player of the Year, Alex Perry announced his new commitment to the University of Hawaii.

Perry previously was committed to JUCO powerhouse Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, but after a trip to Honolulu, Perry changed his mind in favor of the D-1 Mountain West Conference program.

Perry joins new Hawaii head coach and former Rainbow Warrior QB Timmy Chang’s recruiting class after a 6-7 season in 2021 under Todd Graham.

Perry will also look to rack up more awards tomorrow as he’s nominated for Basketball Player of the Year at both the Herald Tribune Prep Awards and the All-Area Sun Prep Awards.
