PORT CHARLOTTE (SNN-TV) – Port Charlotte’s dual-sports star, Alex Perry, committed to Coffeyville Community College this morning.

Among his offers, the 3-star WR/DB had interest from Purdue, Morehead State, Coastal Carolina and UT-Martin.

You may be wondering, why Coffeyville? When Perry had division-one offers. Well, Alex says that Coffeyville will help him find even more opportunities.

Coffeyville had the opportunity for me to go to a big D-I, [which is] how I want to go. They had the best chance for me to do that. It’s a national JUCO powerhouse, so I’ll be playing against D-I athletes, getting better everyday.”

On Friday, Perry set the Port Charlotte High record for points in a game, when he dropped 49 in the Pirates victory over DeSoto County.
