SARASOTA – In an effort to spread positivity amid the spread of the coronavirus, a Suncoast resident wants to begin a Rainbow movement.

Michelle Carrington got the idea from a New York Facebook group called “518 Rainbow Hunt – Spreading Rainbows Worldwide.”

People are posting pictures of rainbows from your laundry to karate belts to paintings.

Carrington says instead of seeing the darkness of the pandemic, it’s about choosing to see the light and color in the world.

“Globally we are in a big storm and so lets spread the rainbow and look for the rainbow in the storm,” Carrington said. “Basically just a movement to create connections, to make people feel connected, and to put a smile on your face.”

Carrington began a group on Facebook called “#941rainbowhunt.”

So….if you see a rainbow, post a rainbow.
