SARASOTA – Future Leaders of America Inc was founded by Divante Watkins with the goal of helping young people realize their inherent talents. He says he decided to pass out Pandemic Care Packages full of produce with fresh vegetables and other nutritional items.
Watkins says he got the idea for the care packages when he spoke with the president of All Faith Food Bank, and realize the need for food for the families of the youth they mentor.
“The food supply is our country is kinda going low, and we wanted to get with some of our major food banks here in the community to actually make it to where no family goes hungry at all,” he said.
Watkins says they were able to feed 200 people at Sundays care package give away, and plans to do more as the summer break approaches.
