 SARASOTA – A search warrant leads to an arrest and seizure of illegal drugs and firearms.

The Sarasota Police department partnered with the narcotics unit, members of the street crime and the patrol division to execute a search warrant in the 1600 block of 22nd street, Thursday.

Four people, one juvenile and three adults have been arrested.

The adult arrests included Raheem Smith for possession of oxycodone, Joshua Pete, for possession of cocaine, and Shantia Stanford for selling cocaine.

The police found guns and magazines as well.

Sarasota police say they obtained the warrant because of neighborhood complaints.

“We started investigating this area of the city of Sarasota because residents in that neighborhood particularly called us and let us know that there was some illegal activity happening in their neighborhood,” Sarasota Police spokesperson, Genevieve Judge, said. “So thanks to them partnering with us, letting us know what was going on, we were able to begin our investigation.”
