SARASOTA – A wire goes down on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Sarasota County Sheriff, Sarasota Emergency Services and Florida Highway Patrol were on scene.

Florida highway patrol says the crash happened around one in the afternoon.

SNN Reporter, Annette Gutierrez, spoke with people on the scene. They said the driver of a white Ford truck hit a transformer causing a wire to go down.

Florida Power and Light arrived on the scene to fix the wire.

Sarasota Emergency Services transported the truck driver to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An innocent bystander driving a white van ran into the cables, backed up, and got a flat.
