MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (SNN TV) – A child and woman are dead after a seven-car crash in Manatee County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on U.S. 301 and Tallevast Road on Friday.
FHP says the seven vehicles in the crash were all going north on U.S. 301.
A 25-year-old Sarasota man collided with a sedan that was driven by a 38-year-old Ellenton woman, who had a 7-year-old boy in the car. Their car collided into another car and overturned. The man’s car collided with four other vehicles.
Both the Ellenton woman and child were killed.
The 25-year-old man and a man in one of the other cars were seriously injured, while the other cars’ occupants sustained at most minor injuries.
