MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (SNN TV) – 31 cats have been rescued so far from a hoarding situation in Manatee County.

Manatee County Government posted that the cats were hoarded in a Myakka home recently. Many of these are first-rescued cats which were unsocialized and required immediate medical attention.

The cats are now ready to be transitioned into the Working Cats program — a reintegration program that places unsocialized cats in a safe environment to deter vermin on farm, store, warehouse or private properties.

More information on the program and its criteria can be found at MyManatee.org.
