SARASOTA – There’s a lot of pressure in getting someone the perfect holiday gift, but one local artists is teaching customers on how to create a one-a-kind gift.

It’s the second annual Pastel Christmas Hand Crafter’s & DIY Market hosted by a Suncoast artist. “I wanted to offer for Sarasota for families to come out and actually make their own Christmas gifts customize them, Says Peggy Sue Hawkins.

Hawkins is the owner of Spoiled Dirty Rotten Natural Cosmetics Soap & Bath Bakery, and the woman behind the Do It Yourself market. “Let’s make this the gateway to Siesta Key that’s kinda my goal,” says Hawkins

She organizes monthly DIY markets to bring something unique to the area. “Well the main thing is that for families to come together and have something that they actually can do that’s interactive something unique that, that’s not already done,” says Hawkins. “We go to the beach but actually having where you can sit with your child and actually make something together and go home it’s mainly about the memories and spending time together.”

The DIY market allows customers to paint and decorate their own Gingerbread house Bath Bombs.

“You get to pick out the different colors and you get to paint it just however you want. You get creative as you want. It’s kinda neat for people that always get to see things but they just get to personalize it,” she says.

“It’s personalize you can actually do it yourself, you get to learn some skills and the actual part of doing it and everybody knows that handmade gifts are the best.”

Hawkins is already planning next month theme which will be Tropical Holidays, and is looking for more local artist to participate in the DIY markets. For a list of events and classes at Spoiled Dirty Rotten Natural Cosmetics Soap & Bath Bakery visit their Facebook page.
