NAPLES (SNN-TV) – Some of golf’s most renowned legends and Hall of Famers of the PGA Champions Tour graced the links in Naples today, for the 2022 Chubb Classic.

Two-time Chubb Classic champ, Fred Couples, and last year’s winner, Steve Stricker, were absent from this year’s event, but the stars were still out in Naples.

Highlighted by a trio of Hall-of-Famers: Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, and post-round one leader, Bernhard Langer, the field was full notable names and faces. Jim Furyk, Miguel-Angel Jimenez and Padraig Harrington were others partaking in the weekend festivities.

Langer wrapped up the day, shooting his age, with a round of 64, giving him sole possession of the lead at -8. Robert Karlsson, Tim Petrovic, Thongchai Jaidee, Goosen and Paul Stankowski are tied for 2nd-place, each at -5.

Play will resume tomorrow morning with, much like today, thousands of spectators expected.
