VENICE (SNN-TV) – 16 of Venice High Schools finest signed their collegiate national letters of intent this morning.

Of the 16, 8 sports were represented including swimming, baseball, softball and rowing. Baseball and Softball led the way with 4 signees a piece.

Some of the Indians signing their letters today included swimmer Jack Lambert, pitcher Huston Wynne, and shortstop Brianna Weimer. It was safe to say the group of signees was led though by Wake Forest commit, Indians shortstop Marek Houston, who says today’s festivities meant the world to him and his family.

“It means a lot, especially having my parents here. They put their time in, especially driving me to all those baseball tournaments at like six in the morning. (A lot of) early mornings, late nights.”

Venice will hold its next signing day in March.
