SUNCOAST (SNN TV) – Red tide continues to foul Suncoast beaches during peak tourism season.
Because of the gusty winds this weekend, the Herald-Tribune reports there will be some risk of respiratory irritation at local beaches. The winds will continue to blow dead animals and foul odors ashore.
In Manatee County, 7000 pounds of dead fish were raked from its beaches just in the past two weeks.
Most beaches in Manatee, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties are forecast for a moderate risk of respiratory irritation, and in some rare cases, a high risk. For the most up-to-date forecast information from NOAA, visit www.RedTideForecast.com.
