SARASOTA-MANATEE – The entire world is applauding the heroes fighting the coronavirus, and a Sarasota resident wants to bring it to the Suncoast.

Project PRIDE SRQ Executive Director, Joshua Beadle, says after seeing how New York and England were clapping for the healthcare workers, he thinks the Suncoast should too.

It’s about stepping outside of your quarantine for a moment to make as much noise as you can: banging pots, singing, clapping, whatever it may be.

Beadle says it’s their non-profit’s effort to do something bigger than their mission; it’s about thanking our health-care workers on a global scale.

Beadle says watching it on TV made him want to clap.

“So I just put myself in the shoes of the families and the people who are doing it and said hey we need to do something here in Sarasota,” Beadle said. “And it’s only a matter of time before our hospitals are filled up the way they are in New York City.”

This Saturday is the first night. At eight, Beadles says he hopes all of the Suncoast steps outside and makes some noise for the healthcare workers on the front line.
