SARASOTA-MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – Pawn shops may be an underrated business, but some are classified as an essential service during this lockdown.
America’s Super Pawn located in Sarasota and Bradenton remains open, offering quick access to cash and loans.
Owner, Greg Twarowski, says it’s because they’re a financial institution under federal law.
Twarowski says customers can come in with a piece of jewelry, a TV, basically anything valuable except for a gun, and get cash for their item.
He says this is especially helpful today as people are financially vulnerable due to COVID–19.
“We’re able to help customers today, right now,” Twarowski said. “If they have a need for cash, they can walk and within minutes, they can walk out with cash to go on with their life; for groceries, for car repairs, for any medication, they may need.”
Twarowski says they’re taking protective measures in the stores to keep customers and employees safe.
Employees wear masks, they installed sneeze barriers, and they follow CDC’s guideline of staying six–feet apart.
