SARASOTA – One art gallery in Sarasota like to highlight local talent. It’s not always the size of the gallery that matter, it’s the content that adorns the walls.
Hidden between Beneva Road and Tuttle Ave this art gallery is one you won’t want to miss.
The concept is simple. Free art for you to take, leave, enjoy and create.
“It’s pretty full right now. In the morning it’s usually half of this,” said Judy Robertson. “And then I’ll just set it up and put someone looking at it a little patron.”
The City of Sarasota is home to an array of unique art galleries typically found along Main Street and throughout downtown.
But in order to find this one of kind art gallery you’ll have to venture a bit east of the Rosemary District – that’s where you’ll find the Free Little Art Gallery SRQ.
“Anything that’s been created from something from nothing or something revamped is art,” said Robertson.
Art has revolved around Robertson’s life since she can remember. The graphic design artists found herself searching for a creative outlet during times of the pandemic.
Thus the Free Little Art Gallery SRQ was born.
Similar to the Little Free Library concept – people can stop by the free gallery take an art piece home or leave one for others to take.
“This is a way – and other people have said, this has helped me start to be creative,” said Robertson.
Robertson says wanted to create a hotspot for others in the neighborhood to enjoy free art as much as she does.
So next time you find yourself in the neighborhood – Robertson invites you to stop on by. After all this art gallery is open 24/7.
You can message Robertson on Instagram or Facebook if you want to take a piece of the free art gallery home with you.
