SARASOTA – Chris Fowler, who anchors ESPN’s tennis coverage and College Gameday, was one of 3 honorees at the 14th Annual Dick Vitale Gala Friday night at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota. Fowler spoke with SNN Sports Director Jake Young about the feeling of being a part of this juggernaut that has raised more than $25 million for pediatric cancer research since the first Gala in 2006 at Dick and Lorraine Vitale’s home.

Fowler looked up to Dick Vitale before he even began working at ESPN, and now together they are two of the talismans of the global sports network. Fowler said they’re hoping this gala gets the total donation haul up to, or even, over, the $30 million mark.
