SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – She’s a three sport athlete, she holds a 4.52 weighted GPA and she’s only a sophomore. These are all reasons why Caitlin Webb is April’s Student-Athlete of the Month presented Carl Reynolds Law.

Caitlin Webb is a standout on the volleyball court, the basketball court and on the sand. The Sarasota Christian sophomore is also at the top of her game in the classroom. SCS alumni-turned-head beach volleyball coach, Megan Clark says that Webb is a high school coach’s dream athlete.

“You see the heart, the passion, the drive and the grit. It’s like how can I be there to help assist in every way possible. I love that, I quit all my jobs to do this solely. It’s players like that, where you couldn’t ask for something better.”

In only her second year of beach volleyball Webb is a certified standout and leader of the Blazers program. Spending the rest of her year either playing indoor volleyball or basketball, Caitlin still finds the time to juggle her schoolwork, her youth group, and family life. For Caitlin, academic success isn’t a “what if” scenario, it’s a sure-fire outcome.

“I just have to be able to use time management as soon as I get home, go right into doing homework, studying for the next day or test or whatever I have to do.”

Still weighing her options and valuing her growth, Webb takes strides year to year in each of her three sports, while narrowing down her options in her desire educational field. Coach Clark, a former collegiate volleyball player and touring pro, says that Webb brings it all to the table as an athlete.

“She’s just a solid workhorse. She wants to better herself every single day, and it shows on the court in whatever she’s playing. She’s just always about how can I improve, how can I be better.”

While a 4.52 weighted GPA may seem daunting to many, Webb says it’s all about time management and applying yourself in the long-run. When asked what advice she’d give to struggling student-athletes, the SCS sophomore says you’ll get out of it, what you put in.

“Don’t get down on yourself for that. Just keep trying to work hard and eventually you’ll be able to reap what you sow.”

Looking to improve upon their current 2-8 record, Caitlin and the Sarasota Christian Beach Volleyball team are back in action tomorrow at home at 4pm against Classical Academy of Sarasota.
