BRADENTON (SNN-TV) – With the MLB Draft just a few weeks away, this year’s class is riddled with talent from right here on the Suncoast.

Earlier today, MLB Pipeline released their Top 250 prospects headed into this year’s draft.

Five players from the Suncoast were listed, with four coming from the highly touted, IMG Academy, and one former Venice alum now at USF.

Beginning with the Ascenders of IMG, of course, atop the list at No. 3 is outfielder and Miami commit, Elijah Green. Green is seemingly guaranteed to be a top-3 pick this year.

After Green comes his teammates at IMG, Ole Miss commit LHP Jackson Ferris at No.19, LSU commit Catcher Brady Neal at No. 74 and FIU commit SS/RHP JeanPierre Ortiz 212.

Also featured on the list at No. 204 is former Venice High School and current USF RHP, Orion Kerkering.

This year’s MLB Draft will take place Sunday, July 17th through Tuesday, July 19th in Los Angeles.
