LOS ANGELES (SNN-TV) – Two of the greatest right-handed hitters in baseball history, both locks for the Hall of Fame, both plan to call it a career soon. But first, they’ll have one more shine in the spotlight as All-Stars.

Major League Baseball announced earlier today that St. Louis’ Albert Pujols and Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera have been added to the All-Star rosters as legacy selections for the 92nd Midsummer Classic, during which they will be celebrated for their achievements over the past two decades.

It is the 11th All-Star selection for Pujols, who is in his 22nd, and final, MLB season. The 42-year-old ranks 5th in MLB history with 683 home runs and 9th with 3,326 career hits.

Cabrera reached 3,000 career hits earlier this season. Miggy will be appearing in his 12th All-Star Game, in his penultimate season.

The All-Star Game will be held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 19th.
