LOS ANGELES, CA (SNN-TV) – Shane McClanahan has been named the American League starting pitcher for the 2022 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

McClanahan, in just his second full season in the big leagues, was selected to his first All-Star Game and is the first MLB All-Star in University of South Florida program history.

The southpaw leads MLB in ERA and WHIP, is tied for the AL lead in strikeouts and tied for second in wins.

On the opposite side, the National League will start Dodgers veteran LHP Clayton Kershaw.

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is set for tomorrow at 8 p.m. at Dodger Stadium in L.A.
