SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – A local boxing club that’s made its mark on the Suncoast for 37 years, is looking for a new home.
The Sarasota Boxing Club ran by Florida Boxing Hall of Famer, Harold Wilen, is looking for a new home. Currently located at 2030 Harvard Street behind Subway, Coach Wilen and his clients are looking for a new facility, as their lease ends in October.
Coach Wilen says the Club aims to stay in the downtown area, or near the downtown area, in a facility of 2500 square feet or more, and air conditioning isn’t even needed. Willing to sign a longer-lease, Coach Wilen says that’s part of what makes he and his club so easy to work with.
“We’re the easiest people to get along with really. Beautiful people are in the leadership of the club. The clientèle is a very amicable group. Everybody dabs each other when they come in and out, its love and respect in this club and it has been since 1985 when the club began.”
