SARASOTA – The Suncoast School for Innovative Studies teamed with the Still Lowriding Car Club to host a car show fundraiser raising money for the children of the school.

“It’s one of those schools that has a bit lower income than normal and just help out the school in general,” says club member Jose Sebastian Zacarias.

After prepping for about 3 months, the community came together in an exciting way to help out a school in need.

“It’s amazing, my kids, my seven year old and my two year old, they’re amazed at the cars and all of the other accessories that they have going on now. It’s a beautiful thing for me to experience with them,” says Dean of Operations Dumaka Atkins.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the after school enrichment programs including drumline, chess club, and more.

Members of the Still Lowriding Car Club were more than happy to bring people together and take part in the fundraiser.

“It’s awesome. I mean whatever it takes. I got kids of my own, if I can help somebody else out, of course. The club as well,” says club president Alberto Valenz.

“We love the turnouts, and like I said, watching people, the fans, and even people with their cars and bicycles they have motorcycles. So it’s a unity, there’s a little bit of everybody here,” says co-club president Rolando Gonzalez.

The event was a success. There were food trucks, raffles, and a live performance from the band.
