FLORIDA (SNN TV) – Florida Power & Light says they expect at least 95% of their customers in north Manatee County to have power back by end of day Tuesday, October 4.

95% of those affected in south Manatee County are expected to have power back by end of day Wednesday, October 5.

Charlotte, DeSoto, Sarasota, and the far southern portions of Manatee County will have power back by end of day Sunday, October 9. Far south Manatee County includes the parts that border Sarasota County and the southeast part of the county around Myakka. In this group, FPL estimates the majority of customers will have power back by end of day Friday, October 7.

So far, FPL says more than 75 percent of customers affected by Ian have their power restored. That’s 1.6 million of 2.1 million who lost power. More than 21,000 people from 30 states are working to restore power.
