VENICE (SNN-TV) – Six area teams qualified for the FHSAA Regional volleyball tournament. Two teams earned the top seed in their respective regions.
In Class 7A-Region 3, Venice is the top-seed and will host No. 8 Steinbrenner. As for Class 6A-Region 3 Charlotte High drew the top seed and will play Wharton. Two Suncoast teams received three seed in their regions, as Braden River is the No. 3 seed in Class 5A-Region 3 and will face Naples. All Quarterfinal round matches in Class 7A to 4A are Wednesday with the semifinals Saturday.
Lemon Bay received the third seed in Class 4A-Region 3 and will host 6th seed Anclote. In Class 3A-Region 3, Cardinal Mooney landed the 4th seed and will play Canterbury. Bradenton Christian drew the eighth seed and will be on the road at Calvary Christian. Quarterfinal round action in Class 2A to 4A are Tuesday with the semifinals Friday.
