SARASOTA COUNTY (SNN TV) – Sarasota County Schools is set to approve pay increases for teachers and bus drivers.

According to the Herald-Tribune, a bargaining agreement would increase the minimum teacher salary from $50,000 to $53,000. Classified employees and administrators would receive a 7.5% percent salary increase, while instructional employees would receive a 6% increase.

Among other increases, hourly pay for bus drivers would increase from $17.67 an hour to $25 an hour for the rest of the school year. This is to help combat the bus driver shortage in the area.
